Workshop Structure

Purpose

To help the D.C. acquire the diagnostic, psycho-motor, and treatment skills necessary to access the full potential of this important body of work at a high level of proficiency.

Form and Content

A combination of lecture, printed materials, demonstration, discussion, experiential, extensive hands-on practicum, case presentation, and case conferencing. The course builds on basic skills to develop the more complex. We begin with separate functional components of the CS system and assemble them into a cohesive therapeutic protocol for evaluation and treatment. Appropriate psychodynamic concepts are presented both didactically and experientially. Pre- and perinatal birth trauma treatment strategies and psychological and somatic shock are explored. Ample workshop time is spent in hands-on development of necessary psychomotor skills. Course content is based on classic "cranial osteopathy" originating from the clinical work and research of Sutherland and others, subsequent research, clinical reporting from the field, and the workshop leaders extensive experience and observations from over thirty years of treating thousands of patients and hundreds of hours of training and teaching.

Early registration strongly suggested as classes fill quickly. Class size limited to 16.
